Not sure what I was thinking...maybe I wasn't...or maybe I didn't have my list of Stuff I'd Like to Knit at the ready, or maybe I was feeling pretty confident and inspired after my last two projects:
This lovely scarf is my Firefly Scarf, (Rav Link)
Though the pattern is confusing, and I had to frog and start all over when I was just a few rows shy of mid-point, this shawl did not take as long as I thought it would. I looks amazing on everybody who tries it...it's like a "Fountain of Youth" Scarf, as it seems to shed about 10 to 15 years off those who wear it. Being in the high 90s today, it's a bit too warm to wear today...
Then there's my Boneyard (Rav link). Another quick project.
It's a little too smallish tip to tip. but I think I can adjust that with blocking a different way then I did my very first time. The yarn is simply heaven and the color amazing. I was fortunate to meet the designer, Stephen West, at Seed Stitch Fine Yarn and was inspired to knit this shawl/scarf. As you can see, it came out really nice! This picture even made it onto the pattern page on Ravelry. How cool is that?
L, my sister, had a birthday coming up, and feeling the adreline high of not one but two completed projects, I thought I'd knit her this... in six days. Her favorite color is pink and I thought this would go nicely. Well...silly me had to rip and restart at least 12 times before I could even get beyond the first 4 rows!! Some times I would have 4 extra stitches, other times I would be missing 2. ?!? I lifelined every row untill I was finally able to proceed to row 5. This is what it looks like now:
There are a few mistakes...I don't think they are glaring and when completed should be a bit hard to find...her birthday was this past Tuesday...
then...
because I knew L's scarf would not be done for her birthday, I decided to start a different project (why oh why) for a person at work... this was to be quicker and easier project. S had given me a skein of blue unlabeled yarn, saying this was her favorite. I decided to make something **quick** for her. I figured out the WPI to be 8 making this aran weight of unknown length. What to make that would be useful? I found the Lacy Batkus. This might do it. I started Tuesday and this is all I have to show...
I'm using US 11 needles and it's going pretty good. I hope she'll like it, I hope it'll be big enough. The yarn is very scratchy, like feeling acrylic scratchy, and not sure of the content I soaked the first 6 inches. The wool softened up some and grew a nice halo. I'll see her in a few weeks, it'll be done by then.
Let's see...to date I have eleven (WIP)s, that's (work in progess)s, including those projects taking naps. I've n.e.v.e.r had this many...I'm feeling a bit scattered, more so then normal. UGH!!
I have about 3 weeks before I go on vacation. My plan is to restart my simple things shawl while I'm taking in the beach air and sun. I'll need to finish maybe 3 (WIP)s before I go so I can truly 'vacation'.
Must go knit....
Next time...the good, the bad and the freaking free-loaders...
